I'd say go with one of the myriad already available and maybe add
bindings for the gamecode language to whatever people want to use. I've
seen QuakeC replaced by Python in one instance, for example :-).
There are lots of great engines out there. What we could do with is a
way to make them accessible (and get those changes incorporated back
into the engines)...
